With Mini Red and Orange tournaments being held simultaneously at Oakham and Stamford tennis clubs on the 15th of May and the Oakham AEGON Mini Orange team playing a double header against Market Bosworth and Lutterworth on the 16th of May, the players needed to come out in force.
The Red tournament at Oakham saw two players, Jonathan Wheatcroft and Henri Cooke making their tournament debuts. Henri Cooke got off to a great start and won 2 matches. The crunch match of the tournament was between Toby Hanson and Jacob Davies. Jacob came out on top 10-5 which gave him a perfect 5 out of 5 record for the day.
Meanwhile at Stamford, Cameron Kirk played in his first Orange tournament and secured 2 wins – well done to all players.
On the Sunday the Oakham Aegon Orange team put in a great performance, winning both matches! Well done to George Davies, Harry Fry, George McWilliams and Pippa Bourne.
