In early September 2010 we launched the first of our ‘R2R Syllabus’ training days. Held at Thrapston Tennis Club, this first training day was designed to maintain and indeed improve the high level of coaching provided by all the coaches working with R2R. The day focused on Mini Red tennis.
The course was led by Justin Chacksfield, LTA Tutor and Talent Performance Coordinator. Justin presented the group with a good combination of lectures and discussions along with on-court, practical, demonstrations.
As part of R2R’s ongoing development programme, we hold regular Syllabus days for our coaches. This gives our coaches the opportunity to attend additional further training and to feedback any new developments to the other coaches in the group. It also gives us the chance to develop the R2R Coaching Programme, ensuring a uniform coaching focus across all the clubs in the group.
Our latest syllabus day was held in early September 2011 at Thrapston Tennis Club. Justin joined us again and the subject for the session was ‘Delivering a Quality Programme’. The course was well attended and very informative, comprising both class work and ‘on court’ sessions.
